Project description, objectives and results:
The project EUROFLEETS2 (Grant Agreement 312772 - FP7-INFRASTRUCTURES-2012-1) is aimed at developing a new pan-European distributed infrastructure with common strategic vision and coordinated access to Research Vessels (RVs) and marine equipment.
INSEAN coordinates the Joint Research Activity 1 (JRA1) - “Regional RVs guidelines and generic designs” (WP11), which addresses the definition of guidelines and specifications for the design key points of Regional Research Vessels (noise and vibration reduction, bubble sweep-down avoidance, and work-deck installations associated to ship operations and interoperability), their subsequent implementation during the design process of a generic research vessel, and the optimization of existing regional research vessels using solutions sought from innovative technologies developed for new ships.
INSEAN is specifically involved in developing guidelines and recommendations on bubble sweep-down avoidance, coordinating the design task of innovative regional research vessels and addressing solutions for performances optimization of existing research vessels.
